May Liao is a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) by the Virginia Board of Medicine. She is also a Board Certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine) by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She holds a Masters of Science Degree (cum laude) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, CA and completed post-graduate studies at the Jiangxi Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Nanchang, China. She has also studied extensively with Jeffrey Yuen.
Self-employed been in practice since 1997 treating a wide range of disorders. I also work with a well-known Reproductive Endocrinology Clinic performing acupuncture on-site pre- and post IVF transfer to increase the effectiveness of the transfer.
As a physician and student of a Doctoral program, I am becoming even more driven by my passion of studies in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. I intend to share my passion through a comprehensive health and wellness clinic that encompasses mind, body and spirit of the patient to achieve optimal individual care. The healthcare will be tailored to individual needs through use of functional medicine, nutrition, Chinese herbal therapy, acupuncture, cupping and other integrative therapies.

She received her Masters Degree from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City. Her background is in Pilates and personal training and she incorporates Yamuna Body Rolling, a form of myofascial release, into her treatments. She is presently in training for her second triathlon with Team In Training.
