During initial consultation, work with patients to determine what is known in osteopathic medicine as the "primary lesion" -- the deepest problem. Then in treatment we work to address that, with the theory that the symptoms bringing them in will begin to dissipate once the primary lesion is successfully treated. Bowstring Theory, indirect release and other philosophies borrowed from osteopathy work nicely with Chinese medicine. Dietary herbs used are not all Chinese -- some are actually food-based supplements used AS Chinese herb, applied with a Chinese diagnosis. Appointments are all one hour long and are often several weeks to months apart, based on the condition a patient is coming in for.
